The volume has some skilful principles, although too often ideas are a bit overstated ... and there are a lot of common sense principles. The writing style isn't the greatest, but comes across not bad. I'chiliad not into "study books" and quite a few pages are dedicated to that kind of presentation. I wish I had read this book 35 years ago! Of course, it had not been written then, but I still wish I had found it sooner.

Exploring the world of Fundraising is a hard journey. With it'south intricate link to money, relating to people who provide for your livelihood volition inevitably effect in differences. I appreciated the image shift this book presented in only living in relationship with all, and seeking to bless all, rather than to be blessed. This is at the heart of all ministry building, or even, of Christianity, as far every bit I can tell, and 'fundraising' is no exception, except, we aren't doing fundraising any more, Exploring the world of Fundraising is a difficult journey. With it's intricate link to money, relating to people who provide for your livelihood volition inevitably result in differences. I appreciated the paradigm shift this book presented in simply living in human relationship with all, and seeking to bless all, rather than to be blessed. This is at the heart of all ministry, or even, of Christianity, as far equally I can tell, and 'fundraising' is no exception, except, nosotros aren't doing fundraising any more than, are we? Why not 5 stars so? For me, it was too formulaic and accented. It reads as a guarantee and sectional in it's methods. Minus 1 star. The loss of the 2d star comes in under the utilise of the core behavior. Although they state information technology obviously, that the Bible assumes simple belief equates with how ane acts. (In fact, 1 could speak of the act of post-obit Jesus equally one in the same). And if this is and then, why accept the step of entangling it with "Core belief" language. it would be enough to share, as they did at the beginning, the elementary Biblical perspective of what it is to believe (human action) and leave it at that. This was distracting to me equally i read through the text. ...more

This was a very good book overall and ane I would recommend to whatsoever missionary or minister who lives on religion back up. It is a very practical and helpful guide to developing relationships with those who partner in one's ministry financially. Information technology seeks to remove finances as the bounden factor between the missionary and his donors and place a 2-way relationship as that bond. This is not only a more biblical approach, but more successful as well. This was a very good volume overall and i I would recommend to any missionary or minister who lives on faith support. Great read. Every chapter focused around some manner to fulfill the principle, "Bear witness gratitude to those you're partnered with." Really encouraging while existence challenging in not abusing your relationships and focusing on being a good friend instead of a adept "fund raiser." Great read. The others-focused perspective of this book was refreshing and encouraging. Selfishness and cocky-centeredness are so like shooting fish in a barrel to wallow in. The idea of long-term partnership and reciprocal ministry building was helpful for me.
